The salesman we spoke to in Furure Shop couldn't offer anything but Vista computers, and let slip that the #1 reason for laptop returns right now is the lack of XP drivers for the new hardware. What hardware? It's a laptop. It comes with everything installed. If it runs Vista, it's going back to the store.

When I was going back-and-forth between Vista and XP (each on its own hard drive) I mistakenly set the BIOS to ACHI when I wanted to boot to the Vista drive and it wouldn't work. It has to be set to raid. I'm not used to proprietary systems, maybe it's unique to HP, I don't know.
